BOARD ESTABLISHES NEW GUIDELINES FOR
08-09 SCHOOL YEAR
The Florida State Thespian board will meet August 16, 2008 to make plans for both
district and state events for the 2008-2009 school year. If you
have any suggestions for either your district or state event,

TECH TITLES for Set and Costume Design
FESTIVAL 2009
If a student wishes to compete in scene or costume design for the 2008-2009 school year,
the student must choose one of the following plays from:
MUSICALS
Willie Wonka Jr. by Leslie
Bricusse and Anthony Newley (a Music Theatre International version)
Purlie by Gary Geld
and Peter Udell
CLASSICS
A Miracle Worker
by William Gibson
Romeo and Juliet
by William Shakespeare
CONTEMPORARY
Stage Door
by George Kaufman and Edna Ferber
The Clumsy Custard Horror Show by
Bill Gleason
To Prepare for the New School Year:
We
ask that every junior high sponsor prepare the following:
- Check to make sure that
your sponsor name and school address is correctly listed. If you
have any corrections send them to the fax/email/address below.
- Check your district
number. If you wish to be assigned to another district for the sake
of convenient travel to the district event, send the correction to
the fax/email/address below.
- Insure that your STATUS
listed above is AFF. If it is, you are correctly affiliated and
will receive all registration materials. If your STATUS is listed
as NON, you need to call the International Office at 513-421-3900
and see what needs to be done to get your troupe affiliated once
more.
- Send all comments on
rules, events, or festivals to the fax/email/address below.
- Check the web for updates
frequently at:
www.flthespian.com. Click
JUNIOR THESPIANS at the top of the page.
- For more information on
your DISTRICT event, please contact your DISTRICT CHAIR on the
following sheet. The enclosed sheet lists the six new districts and
district leaders.
