ONE ACT TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS AND RULES NOWAVAILABLE

We now have one-act technical specifications and rules available for all three spaces at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts.

STRAZ Center Rules

Clothing: We ask that ALL students dress as stagehands. The students should wear shoes that cover the whole foot.  So no open toes, sling/open back shoes, or sandals.  Please no overly baggy clothing, skirts, or long hair hanging loose.
**The loading dock supervisor has the right to ask a student to sit out during loading and unloading of the truck if he/she feels that a students clothing is a potential danger.

Directing trucks:  Students are welcome to direct their school's truck into the loading dock.  But the students should  NEVER be on the same level as the trucks.  The students should direct the trucks form the upper level of the dock.

Conduct in the building: No one at any time should run anywhere in the building.  If there is an emergency find a host or someone else with a radio (like Straz Center security) to contact the person you need.

We ask that you follow these rules closely to avoid problems and injuries that we have had in the past.

We hope that everyone has a wonderful experience during his or her visit.

PARKING AT THE STRAZ CENTER

-
All One Act and Main stage trucks are to park at the bagged meters closest to the Straz Center.

-Any buses carrying students are to park at the bagged meters closest to the Howard Johnson Plaza.

-Please DO NOT block the stage door or loading dock with your truck or bus.

-Please have a large sign with the name of your school and your show displayedsomewhere on your truck so that a host can read it from the sidewalk.

-Your driver needs to be with the vehicle before the One Act competition and immediately following it.

-A truck is only to move when a host indicates for that truck to move.

-Once a truck has unloaded or loaded it needs to move out of the dock as quickly as possible to make room for the next truck.

-NO PERSONAL vehicles should park at the bagged meters during the festival unless it is carrying set pieces.

-Personal vehicles can find parking at the Howard Johnson Plaza, the Times Lot, and the Poe Garage. These places DO charge a fee for parking.
