2. Goals eliminate or reduce push-back. They provide inner direction rather than outer correction.
3. Goals provide great energy and drive.
4. Goal setters procrastinate less. They're action oriented.
5. Goal setters also deal more efficiently with setbacks.
Setting goals for a school year take careful thought. A student leader of a troupe needs to organize exciting activities but must not plan so much that members are overworked - Doing fewer activities well is better than overestimating and having many poorly run activities.
1. Approx. how many members will this troupe have?
2. How many of these are willing to work hard on a project?
3. How much time and effort am I willing to put into activities?
4. Are my officers responsible enough to lead some of the activities?
5. How much support can I expect from my school's faculty?
L. List all the items you would like to see accomplished.
E. Edit the list so that it included only those goals that are reasonable and concrete.
A. Add the action steps that are necessary to make each goal a reality.
D. Decide upon a chronological order for the goals and action steps.
E. Executive your plan to action, tackling one goal at a time, one step at a time.
R. Review the results after each goal is accomplished.
